Vaccine Researcher & Scientist

Overview:

At LunaVax, we’re redefining vaccine delivery to reach every child, everywhere. As a Vaccine Researcher & Scientist, you’ll lead formulation innovation for our microneedle patch (MAP) platform and help shape the future of vaccine deployment across Africa. Your work will directly support LunaVax’s upcoming pilot focused on measles MAPs and inform broader efforts to scale patch-based immunization for high-burden diseases.

This is a rare opportunity to bridge lab-based innovation with implementation-focused research that informs public health strategy at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design and test novel vaccine formulations for microneedle patch delivery and other formats
• Conduct studies on stability, shelf life, cold chain independence, and usability
• Partner with regulatory teams to generate data for submissions and pilot deployment
• Collaborate with global labs and institutions on preclinical and early-stage human studies
• Analyze and report clinical and preclinical trial results
• Stay current on vaccine technologies and make recommendations for internal pipeline development

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or MSc in virology, immunology, bioengineering, or related field
• Experience with vaccine formulation, delivery systems, or microneedle platforms
• Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to translational R&D programs
• Strong analytical and scientific writing skills
• Experience in low-resource or LMIC settings a plus

Compensation:
Estimated range: $90,000 – $130,000 USD annually, depending on experience and location.
